Two Powerful Prayer Partners

Ephesians 6:18. “With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition  for all the saints.”

While reading about the armor of God last week in Ephesians 6, I was impressed with the importance of praying constantly for our brothers and sisters in Christ. We should continually be on the alert for the devil’s schemes, not only for ourselves, but for our family members in the Lord. Though we are not always aware of the temptations each person faces, we must consistently bring them before the Lord asking Him to “lead them not into temptation but deliver them from the evil one.”

This seems like a daunting task especially when you do not always have the words to express the desires of your heart. But as I continued to study I was drawn to a cross reference that really encouraged my heart. Romans 8 speaks about the victory that we have in Christ. It also reminds us that we should be praying, but in verse 26 it explains that when we do not know how to pray as we should, the Holy Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. How amazing is that!

The third person of the trinity goes before the Father and prays for us according to the will of God. In this way we can be assured that our prayers are appropriate and that God will work everything together for the good of those who love God and are the called according to His purpose.

As I continued to read it got even better. The author, speaking by the Spirit, assured believers in Christ that if God is for us, who is against us? He that did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things? No one, not even the devil, can bring a charge against us. And guess what? Verse 34 tells us that not only is the Holy Spirit interceding for us but, Christ Jesus Himself is also.

As I am praying that my family, friends and neighbors will be protected from the underhanded plans of Satan, the Holy Spirit and our Savior, Jesus Christ, join me in that prayer. Who could ask for better prayer partners?

There is no one and nothing that can separate us from the love of God – neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor demons, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing – NOTHING can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. In all these things we can overcome through Him who loves us, died for us, and prays for us.

So don’t become discouraged in your prayers. If you know Christ as your Savior you have two amazing prayer partners. When they pray things happen!

Love,

Mama
