Back to School

1 Thessalonians 5:23-24 “May God Himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. The one who calls you is faithful and He will do it.”

Tonight was the last night before the big day – school starts again tomorrow! Summer vacation is over in our little ville and all the kids are getting ready for a bright and early morning. New clothes and shoes are laid out, bookbags are ready, lunches are packed, butterflies are fluttering. It’s the beginning of a new year and lots of learning.

We only have one heading to high school this year. The rest of you are in college or entering the working world. But no matter how old you get, there is always room for learning. Make it your goal to continue to stretch your mind and develop new areas of expertise.

Christians also have a lot to learn. We must study to show ourselves approved unto God by seeking truth through His word. But our final grade is not up to us. 1 Thessalonians tells us that God Himself will take charge of our learning. He sets us apart and teaches us the things we need to know. When we do wrong He corrects us. When we need more faith He gives us stretching experiences. When we need guidance He directs our paths. God Himself, the God of peace, has started a work in us and is committed to seeing our education through. We don’t need to be afraid that we will fail these classes because the teacher is Divine. He will keep us and present us blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. This One Who calls us is faithful and He will do it!

Whether you are entering elementary, middle school, high school, college, or graduate school. Even if you are entering the work force for the first time, if you know Jesus Christ as your savior your education is not over. God Himself will give you all the lessons you need! He is a faithful teacher and will do it! So have a good day tomorrow as you go back to school!

Love,

Mama
