God’s Love Song

Dear Kids,

Zephaniah 3:17.  “The Lord your God is with you, He is mighty to save.  He will take great delight in you, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.”

I love to hear John-Keith sing.  Often when I am working at the kitchen counter, I will hear him whistling or singing a tune in the other room.  It is such a happy sound to me and I enjoy it very much. Did you know that God sings over you?

Today’s verse is from Zephaniah.  The people of the Kingdom of Judah had turned away from the Lord and were worshipping idols. God was warning them that an enemy would come to punish their unfaithfulness. They would be swept away in the destruction if they did not repent.  Nothing would be able to save them and in the fire of His jealousy the whole world would be consumed. But at the end of this short book of prophesy God gives some good news.  He says that He will protect the meek and the humble who trust in the name of the Lord.  He promises to be with them.   He will come in His might to save them, quiet them in His love and rejoice over them with singing.

Do you trust in the Lord?  Then God has a song for you, too.  He loves you and is pleased when you obey and follow His commands. This is a love song I want to hear! What about you?
