Continuing Education

Dear Kids,

2 Peter 3:18. “But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory, both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.” (NASB)

Today Dad and I spent the whole day in school. We were in Columbus, Ohio, sitting in classes to help fulfill our real estate continuing education needs. The State requires that every three years each real estate agent or broker completes a designated amount of hours updating their knowledge in the field. This is something that has to be done if you want to keep your license and keep current on the laws in the State of Ohio.
As Christians it is very important that we continue to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To do this takes much discipline. It is not something that will just happen. This is why it is important to be reading God’s Word and praying every day. We need to ask the Holy Spirit to guide us daily into all truth. By taking the time to study diligently, we will be prepared for all the transactions, good and bad, that life brings our way.
There is no such thing as a stagnant Christian. You are either growing in your faith and knowledge or you are going backwards. By regularly taking the time to further your spiritual education, you will be  raising your guard against scriptural error. You will not be carried away by unprincipled men and will give glory to your Savior.
Doing what is necessary to expand your knowledge of God takes time and discipline. But it is what you need to do if you want to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  It’s time for some continuing education!

Love,

Mama
