A House With Many Rooms
A House With Many Rooms
Dear Kids,
John 14:1-3. “Do not let your heart be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.”
One of the main services of our company is to liquidate real estate. We regularly help people sell or buy new homes. Recently we have sold some lots of bare ground on which the purchasers have decided to build new houses. It can be an exciting time in someone’s life as they plan and prepare for this huge project.
Conversely, it can be a difficult experience for the one who is selling his property. Many times when someone gets older, he or she does not have the strength or the ability to care for their home anymore and are forced to give it up. This can be unsettling and troubling as they relinquish all their possessions and move from the place that has been their refuge. Often there are nostalgic memories attached to this place they have called home that make it hard to surrender.
As Christians we can be comforted in the fact that this world is not our final resting place. God has prepared a place in heaven where, after our time here on earth is finished, we will go to live forever. This home with many rooms will never have maintenance problems like peeling paint, rusty hinges, or faulty plumbing. It will never be beyond what we can handle because God is building it for us and will transport us there Himself. Once we arrive, we will never have to move again.
When the time comes to buy or sell your house here on earth, don’t forget: as a Christian, this is not your true home. You are just a stranger passing through. Your real home is in heaven!
Love,
Mama
