Lost Puppies
Lost Puppies
Dear Kids,
From left, (baby) Nathan, Emily, John-Keith, and Luke loved the baby puppies |
Matthew 18:12-13 “If a shepherd has one hundred sheep, and one wanders away and is lost, what will he do? Won’t he leave the ninety-nine others and go out into the hills to search for the lost one? And if he finds it, he will surely rejoice over it more than the ninety-nine that didn’t wander away!”
This verse reminds me of the time that our black lab/German shepherd, Maggie’s, frisky puppies scampered off into the bean field. We searched and called for them for hours but to no avail. Eventually, as it got dark, we gave up and went to bed hoping that a wild animal would not kill them in the night. The next morning when I went out to the barn, I found all 7 puppies curled up next to their mama. In the night she had continued the search until she found every last puppy and brought them home.
Jesus has an even greater love for sinners. In Luke 19:10 Jesus responded to a disgruntled crowd of people who were disturbed that He would enter a sinner’s house by saying, “The Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” When the lost get found there is great rejoicing in heaven. Today, remember how much you are loved!
Love,
Mama
