Midnight Prayers

Dear Kids,

Psalm 119:62. “At midnight I rise to give you thanks for your righteous laws.”

I am very tired today. I awakened in the middle of the night and could not go back to sleep. It is the most frustrating feeling to lie awake thinking of all the things that need to be done and wondering how you will have the energy to carry on. As usual I fell back into a deep sleep just when it was almost time for the alarm to come on. Bummer! This kind of day happens to everyone once in a while, but unfortunately it seems to be a habit with me.
I have developed the practice of praying while I lie awake. I thank God for all His blessings. I pray through a list of all the people and circumstances I have on my mind and bring them before the Lord. Some of my best praying is done at night.
Though I am tired the next day, I remember that God is my strength. I am thankful that the One who watches over me will never slumber or sleep. Next time you can’t sleep count your blessings and thank God for all He has done.

Love,

Mama
