This has been quite the weekend! Saturday you got married and we all worked hard to make it a special day. Now that the dust has settled, I sit collecting my thoughts and rehearsing everything that’s happened over the past week, months, and years. Time just seems to fly. Little boys and girls too quickly grow into men and women who launch out and start homes of their own. I now know that from the day I first stared into my little Emily Suzanne’s eyes the clock started ticking. And the lump in my throat reminds me that when I said the first hello to that little seven-pound strawberry blonde I also said goodbye to my heart.

Sometimes I wish inanimate objects could talk. If they could I am sure I would hear amazing stories from the past that would explain a lot of things. But sadly we are often only left with speculation. The explanations of why things are the way they are remain a mystery locked up tight in the forgotten history of those who have gone before. One of these conundrums is the decision of a master potter.

There are plenty of times in life when you will find yourself going the wrong direction. It may be you have made a bad decision and found yourself in a muddle. Maybe you over committed and feel overwhelmed.  Or maybe you just misread the map and found yourself on a road you don’t recognize. Whatever the situation, the best option is repentance.  Admit your mistake and redirect your course. Otherwise you could find yourself really far away from where you want to be.

I shouldered my bag and started the long hike from my car to the Molly Caren Agricultural Center.
