From Spiritual Blindness to Seeing Christ Clearly

Saul could see the road to Damascus clearly, yet he suffered from spiritual blindness that kept him from recognizing Jesus as the Messiah. Sometimes God uses unexpected circumstances to open our eyes to the truth, replacing darkness with the light of Christ.

The Greatest Architect

Deep down in each person's heart there is a desire to leave behind a legacy. Though each of us is involved daily with life's mundane circumstances, we hope that the seeds we plant will make a difference in others' lives. Truly our attitudes and actions do affect others, but when it is all said and done, will the fruit our lives produce remain?

Finding the Road Home

Have I ever told any of you that I am terrible at directions? No matter how hard I try I always pick the wrong direction. That is why I rely heavily on my GPS. Siri and I are the closest of friends when it comes to finding my way. I trust her completely. Just yesterday I was traveling through a neighboring town that I do not visit often. I asked Siri to take me home and she kindly began directing me. As I blindly followed her lead she took me through a very unfamiliar area and I was completely lost. Though I started to have some doubts about her wisdom, there was nothing left to do but continue to follow her guidance. Much to my relief, in twenty minutes I finally recognized where I was. It wasn't the route I was expecting but a back way that took me right where I needed to go. Once again, I was so glad my good friend knew where she was going because I sure didn't!

God’s Perfect Timing

There's a whole lot of "ticking" going on. Alone in our office I stepped out into the Event Center where our Clock & Watch Auction was set up. As I stood perusing the many timepieces that sat on the long tables, I noticed the ticking. It wasn't very loud, but as I cocked my ear I could distinguish the soft pulse of hundreds of clocks beating out every second. "There certainly won't be any excuse for the auction attenders to be late to their next appointments," I chuckled. "Their timing should be perfect."

The Light that Shone in Darkness

It is not easy to find your way in the dark. There are times in our country home when the electricity goes out. When it happens at night we usually fumble around looking for the oil lamps and matches. When we finally get one lit, it is easier to function until the electric company can restore our power. Without light there is often not much to do but to sit in the darkness and wait.

Journey to Bethlehem

Christmas is often a time of travel. Friends and families love to spend this special season together celebrating and giving gifts. By necessity many take a journey across town, across states, or even across country. When I was growing up in New Jersey, my extended family lived relatively close. Every Christmas my aunts, uncles, and cousins would meet at Grandma & Grandpa Thomson's house to celebrate the season together. After exchanging gifts we observed an annual tradition. All who wanted to go wrapped themselves in their warmest clothes, jumped in the car, and journeyed into New York City.

In the Twinkling of an Eye

I am having a time shortage crisis. It seems that life is just rushing by at 100 miles per hour. There never seem to be enough hours in the day to accomplish all that demands to be done. Ours is probably the only house in the area that still has a pumpkin on the porch and no Christmas decorations up. There are only two weeks left until Christmas and I don't have any gifts - but who cares because we don't even have a tree to put them under yet. I am behind at work, there are dishes in the sink and laundry to be done.
