Jobs of the Levites: Honoring God in Your Job

The jobs of the Levites consisted of taking care of the tabernacle. We also have jobs and should do them heartily for God's glory no matter what.

2 Deaths Precious in the Sight of the LORD

Death is a grievous thing, but for the believer it will be a glorious thing. It is precious in the sight of the LORD for we will see Him and finally be home.

God’s Work, God’s Way: A Guide for Successful Ministry

God’s work can only be done in God’s power by faith! Sometimes we get sloppy in ministry. That’s when we have to get back to the basics.

They Saw No One But Jesus: An Important Family Policy

Peter attended Jesus' transfiguration, but he got sidetracked. After God spoke, the men fell and when they got up they saw no one but Jesus.

Take Up Your Cross – Trusting God When Life Gets Hard

There may be difficult days you don't understand, but take up your cross and follow Jesus. Trust the One Who knows what he is doing.

Be Still And Know That I Am God

Jesus's disciple, Peter, had many quiet hours with Jesus and God revealed Jesus's identity to Him. God also calls us, "Be still and know I am God."

God on His Hands and Knees

It was right before the Passover celebration. Jesus, knowing that the hour of His death was upon Him, wanted to show His disciples the length to which His love would go. Not only had He left the ivory palaces of heaven to be born in a dirty stable in Bethlehem; not only had He lived His life on earth as One without a permanent home; but He was willing to take on the form of a servant, humbling Himself in the most demeaning of household duties.

Powder Puff Football – Filling Another’s Shoes

Screams and cheers rang across the white-striped field as players and coaches entered the arena. The football contest was about to begin, but this was no ordinary competition. Powder Puff football was the name of the game last Saturday night when Junior and Senior female players suited up to test their skill and endurance against each other.

The Screaming Sky

My favorite exercise is walking. I love to tie on my tennis shoes and head down the road at a fast clip.  But I have noticed that I have a bad habit. For some reason as I am walking I keep my eyes focused on my feet. I don't know if I am subconsciously afraid I am going to stumble, but I will often catch myself with my head down, eyes glued to the pavement.

Young Love and Sticky Notes

Young love is so refreshing! Recently Dad and I had the opportunity to get to know a young couple who are looking forward to getting married and spending their lives together. In spending time with them we were invigorated by the intensity of their feelings for each other. The young man recently even wrote on 365 sticky notes reminders of what he loves about his intended and covered the wall by her bed with them. These types of intentional efforts make such a difference. They help keep a young love so new and fresh.

Tupperware: Keeping it Fresh

An explosion of color met my eyes when I entered the auction facility. A rainbow of Tupperware filled every table in the building. Red, yellow, blue, & green plastic bowls, serving pieces, cups, and pitchers were the order of the day. You name it, we had it!

Great Grandpa’s Battle Plan

On Sunday afternoon, December 7, 1941, millions of Americans listening to the radio had their favorite programs interrupted with terrible news. The Imperial Japanese Navy conducted a surprise military strike on the United States naval port in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. Three hundred and fifty-three enemy planes launched bombs damaging eight US battleships, four of which sank. The well-placed bombs also damaged numerous other ships and aircraft succeeding in killing 2,403 Americans and injuring 1,178 others.
