Dead in Our Trespasses and Sins: An Unexpected Object Lesson in My Flower Bed
By Sandra Sheridan | | Knowing God, Salvation
This weekend, a surprising object lesson reminded me of a hard truth: we are all dead in our trespasses and sins—powerless to save ourselves. But God’s great love and mercy offer a miracle: new life in Christ, freely given to those who put their faith in Him.
When God Uses Trials for His Purpose: Lessons from Acts 8
By Sandra Sheridan | | Wisdom for Living
Have you ever faced a difficult season and wondered what God was doing? In Acts 8, persecution scattered the early believers, but what looked like chaos was actually God’s plan unfolding. Sometimes He uses trials to move us exactly where He wants us to be.
Clean Hands and a Pure Heart Meaning: A Lesson from the NICU
By Sandra Sheridan | | Knowing God, Salvation
I had to scrub my hands for two full minutes before touching my newborn granddaughter in the NICU… and it reminded me of a powerful truth: we can’t make ourselves clean enough to approach God. Only Jesus can cleanse, giving us clean hands and a pure heart.
Biblical Forgiveness: How to Forgive When the Hurt Is Deep

Christ, the Light
By Sandra Sheridan | | Encouragement
Light shows us things we would not otherwise see. When Dad and I first got married we lived in an apartment complex in New Jersey. It was quite a large complex with many people living in close proximity to one another.
Swine or Lambs?
By Sandra Sheridan | | Encouragement, Salvation, Transforming the Mind
What happens when we believe on the Lord Jesus Christ with our whole heart, soul, and mind, accepting His gift of salvation? There is a radical change that takes place. Anyone who is in Christ becomes a new creature. The old nature and way of living pass away and are replaced with a different and much better one - one that replicates the heart and mind of Christ.
My Tulip Friends
By Sandra Sheridan | | Encouragement, Hope, Marriage
The day was warm and inviting. While walking into my office I discovered that the yellow tulips planted by the front door had opened their petals wide to drink in the refreshing sunshine. I was able to see deep down into the heart of the beautiful flowers to the black parts that made such a striking contrast to the vibrant yellow. I smiled, greeted them back, and entered the door to begin another busy day of work.
