The Bible talks a lot about rest. The Lord knows my frame and what I can take physically and emotionally. There are times when what I need more than anything is rest. He is the provider of all things including times of quiet and refreshment.

We will all have days when nothing goes right. But we can combat discouragement with prayer. On our darkest days God will provide strength and a strong fortress in which to hide. You can rely on Him!

How we look at the little frustrations of life can either make us or break us. When an unexpected blip occurs in the day we must choose how to respond. And sometimes the healthiest response is laughter. The book of Proverbs reminds us that a cheerful heart is good medicine.

Over the years most of us collect a wide variety of items we would consider treasures. But often times in the course of life these special trophies find their way into a storeroom where they are forgotten or even ruined over time. When they are rediscovered in a state of disrepair it causes one to question the true value of the item. That is why the best type of investment is in heavenly treasures. 

Developing a plan and seeing your idea through creates deep satisfaction. But how about when you set the schedule and complete all the preparation only to have mitigating circumstances change the outcome? In this case, God’s children must remember and trust that although we make our plans, the Lord directs our steps.

Life isn't meant to be all about receiving good service. If we follow in the footsteps of Jesus then we are the ones born to serve.
