I chuckled as I watched the little balls of fur roll around on the concrete patio. One second they were a blur of yellow, black & white wrestling with passion and the next second the yellow was pouncing through the air trying to catch a fly while the black, brown & white was burrowing beneath the hostas along the porch.

This past weekend was a busy one. We went to numerous graduation parties, attended a graduation ceremony, and hosted a party for John-Keith. It was exciting and nostalgic to look back at all the photos showing the progression of maturity over the years. For this mama it was also a little disconcerting to think of how the years have passed so quickly. It seems like only yesterday I was bringing home a sweet bundle of good-natured joy. Now my third child, along with all his friends and classmates, have roamed the halls of our town's school for the last time - on to bigger and better things!

Everyone is longing for a satisfying relationship that will meet the deepest emotional needs.  We were created with this burning desire deep inside and will never be complete until it is met. So often we try to fill this void by searching for the "right" person who will love us and make us feel good and whole.  We burn ourselves out running from one person to the next, always being disappointed that we can not find the perfect match for us.  Even if we have found "Mr. or Mrs. Right," when we expect them to fulfill our every desire for deep relationship we will ultimately be disappointed and frustrated.

At the end of every school year there are awards ceremonies to attend. I can remember how exciting it was to sit in the audience wondering whether my name would be called to walk to the front and accept a reward for my hard work.

The spicy smell of baked lamb wafted through the house as religious leaders and other men of distinction moved to take their places at the table set for the occasion. The conversation flowed easily and the excitement mounted as they wondered what words this controversial teacher, who also was a guest, would have to say.
