Starlink, Mountain Roads, and Connection With God Through Jesus Christ
By Sandra Sheridan | | Salvation
When a family getaway in the mountains left us without internet service, a Starlink connection reminded me of a far greater truth: the only lasting connection with God through Jesus Christ comes through faith, not human effort.
The Eternal Impact of Faithful Service for God
By Sandra Sheridan | | Discipleship
Faithful service for God does not always happen on a stage or behind a pulpit. Sometimes it happens quietly through everyday acts of love, generosity, and obedience. The story of Tabitha in Acts 9 is a powerful reminder that God uses ordinary people in extraordinary ways to point others to Christ.

From Spiritual Blindness to Seeing Christ Clearly
By Sandra Sheridan | | Salvation
Saul could see the road to Damascus clearly, yet he suffered from spiritual blindness that kept him from recognizing Jesus as the Messiah. Sometimes God uses unexpected circumstances to open our eyes to the truth, replacing darkness with the light of Christ.
Do Not Grow Weary in Doing Good: A Lesson from a Slow-Blooming Lilac
By Sandra Sheridan | | Encouragement
For years a lilac bush outside my door produced nothing but leaves. Then one day it bloomed, and reminded me of the powerful truth in Galatians 6:9: do not grow weary in doing good.
Set Free From the Prison of Sin: An Escape We Cannot Make Ourselves
By Sandra Sheridan | | Salvation
An escape room may allow clever players to find their way out, but the prison of sin is different. Learn how Jesus Christ makes it possible for us to be set free from the prison of sin.
The Light of the World
By Sandra Sheridan | | Help for the Hurting, Wisdom for Living
You have not experienced darkness until you have camped in the wilderness for a few days. Far away from the city lights the nights get very dark - especially if it is cloudy and the moon and stars are hidden. Maneuvering your way to a tent tucked back in the forest on one of these black evenings would be quite a feat if there weren't some sort of light to guide your way.
Don’t Mind Me – My Horn Sticks!
By Sandra Sheridan | | Comfort, Encouragement, Transforming the Mind
I just love living in a small town. There is something encouraging and comforting to know most of the people that you see on a day-to-day basis. Soon after moving here from a big city setting I learned that there is something I have dubbed "the Ohio wave." When passing by people you know, and even those you don't, it is cordial to lift your fingers from the top of your steering wheel as if to say a friendly "Hello" while passing by. In this way it is possible to greet friends and neighbors while motoring by on the road. The alternative to the "Ohio Wave" is a light tap on the horn which also has the same effect of acknowledging those you pass.
Are You a Clinger?
By Sandra Sheridan | | Comfort, Encouragement, Relationships
Growing up I was like most children. I had a very soft silky comforter that I loved dearly. It was my grandmother's and she gave it to me. It kept me warm in the winter but the lustrous fabric was cool in the summertime. I clearly remember the day I realized it was beginning to look raggedy. Not only was it starting to fall apart, but I was starting to grow up. I recognized that I could not hold onto it forever, so I marched with determination to the kitchen garbage pail and dropped it on top.
God’s Faithfulness:Forty Years and Counting
By Sandra Sheridan | | Encouragement, Faith, Family Life, Hope, Prayer, Prayer
Our God is a faithful God. He always keeps His promises. The best way to recognize and remember this attribute in your own life is to keep a running record of your experiences. God’s faithfulness becomes even more clear when you look back and see what He has done.
Memory Mishaps
By Sandra Sheridan | | Encouragement, Obedience, Transforming the Mind
My short term memory is very short. I have been known to run down to the basement to get something, only to stop in the middle of my search to scour my mind for the reason I went down. Often it is necessary for me to run back upstairs to jar my brain as to my purpose for the trip. I have even recently called everyone to look for the peanut butter jar that I misplaced only to be told that I was holding it in my hand. We laugh about my recollection foibles, but truly it is very frustrating.
Timing is Everything!
By Sandra Sheridan | | Encouragement, Heaven
Timing is everything. Whether you are telling a joke, swinging a baseball bat, or asking a friend for a big favor there is the perfect moment to do it. All other times will not be as profitable. Why then are we always in such a rush? Our culture hates to wait and would rather jump into things, even good things, before the time is right.
